This kids wraparound show was seen saturday mornings on WPIX TV Ch.11 in NYC. Debuting on Saturday October 13, 1962 the show was set against the backdrop of an old fashioned train station where the engineer of "The Cartoon Express", "Engineer Smokey Bill" (Played by entertainer Bill Britten), would engage his train passengers (His viewers) in comedy skits, craftmaking, informational segments and hobbies inbetween the reruns of The Syndicated "Popeye" TV Cartoons and The Laurel & Hardy and "Three Stooges" Film comedies.

"The Cartoon Express" remained on the air until the station execs at Ch.11 derailed the show on Saturday November 3, 1962.
