Set against the backdrop of a makeshift clubhouse inside of a boathouse on a dock. "Skipper Tom" Hatten engages his studio audiences and his viewers in games, stories, contests, informational segments, drawing lessions and interviews with guest performers, personalities and members of the studio audience inbetween the reruns of "The Popeye" movie and tv cartoons.

The series was first seen on KTLA TV Ch.5 In the Hollywood,Cal. viewing area in the fall of 1956, under the title of "The Adventures Of Popeye". "The Adventures Of Popeye!" ultillize a format simular to "The Pier Five Club". Mr. Hatten's "Skipper Tom" also hosted that series.
