This mini-series of five minute film comedies made for tv was created and produced by Sandy Howard (The guiding genius behind WOR TV Ch.9 NYC's pioneering kids TV wraparound show "The Merry Mailman").

Based upon the comedies of L&H, Mickey Deems and Joey Faye as bumbling handymen "Mack & Myer" would try to complete their assigned tasks and improve their meager way of life, but their ineptitude would prevent them from succeeding. Mr. Deems would collaborate on the scripts for the show with Stan Laurel (of L&H movie comedy fame) and with movie comedy director Eddie Sutherland. Ironically, Mr. Sutherland had worked with L&H on their 1939 film comedy "The Flying Deuces" with Producer Boris Morros at RKO Radio Movie studios.

"Mack & Myer For Hire!" was first on WPIX TV Ch.11 NYC's popular Sunday morning Comedy/ variety kids tv show "Let's Have Fun!" (mc'd by Chuck McCann and The Paul Ashley Puppets) during the 1965 tv season.
